My own little inspiration board

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone had a fantastic week, mine was crazy busy at work, a little sad and a lot busy!
Well is some of my compilation that turned into my inspiration for our wedding. We were engaged for 2 years, so plenty of time to collect and refine exactly the look and feel that we wanted - and it turned out more perfect than we could have imagined. I found it pretty hard to name the look we were going for...maybe soft, intimate, rustic, textures....any suggestions? X

ps: I couldnt post the word compiled boards to this blogspot , so had to post some of the individual piccies that inspired me- or maybe I just couldnt work that out - does any one know how to post inspiration boards that could let me know!

Taken from Style Me Pretty, Twigs and Honey, Once Wed My sincere apologies that I dont have exact link for each picture, they have been collected over 2 years - and I didnt think I would be ever posting them.

Simple, white, gorgeous

Milk Bottles and Jam Jars

Happy Sunday Evening!

I Was just flicking through some friends piccies of our wedding, here is a wee start on some of the ceremony site details. I have developed over the past 2 years a true love of old bottles, milk bottles, medicine bottles you name it!! Through that has come a love of pottering around antique and second hand shops all around the country, on honeymoon we were pretty lucky not to return with an old wooden butter churn and rice/drain sieve!! So imagine my absolute delight when we first visited the Thomas Brown Art Gallery in Arrowtown. This gorgeous whitewash brick interior building was the site of an original dairy and cheese factory, it has amazing character, presence and natural light - fantastic for showcasing Thomas's vibrant work. It also holds many treasures like these old milk bottles...perfect to fit with our collected bottles and jars! We also spent hours wiring jam jars into lanterns and vases to hang over white chairs - our florist Sarah did an amazing job to 'bring spring indoors'!

Welcome to My Little Buttons

Well once again I am making a start on joining the blogging world. Inspired by all the super duper talented bloggers and sites, I thought I would post some of my own wee inspirations and thoughts. And the name..well inspired by my wonderful grandma - who always calls me "My little buttons".

So here is my foray to share things that I love and find that make me smile! During my recent wedding planning it was so exciting to get my hands and brain into creative ideas, something that is a world away from my day to day job as a doctor. I found a renewed fascination with all things sentimental, things loved from a time now past, little buttons, little birds, textures and twines and the harmony that mismatched yet loved objects conveys. Combine that with a great love of food...and here we are!!

The next weeks will definitely and excitedly include snippets from our wonderful wedding 2 weeks ago. I could not have got by without my daily reads from NZ's own and wonderful Magnolia Rouge , The Ivory Dahlia and the bible of wedding gorgeousness Style Me Pretty.

But for today, in the quest for domestic goddess status - my freshly baked Belgian biscuits - so pretty!!
